Fires can breakout any time and any where.

If a fire broke out during one of your Church services---would your congregation know where to exit?  More importantly---when was the last time your congregation practiced a fire drill?----do they know the procedures for an Evacuation Drill for any type of Emergency---and what about the children in the Nursery?!!!

Take the time right now to review YOUR Church’s safety plans for Emergency Evacuations.  By having a plan in place or by NOT having a plan---it will mean the difference between chaos or organization.

If you do not have a plan or need assistance----National Church Safety Network would like to support your safety teams by assisting your Church in preparing and training for these types of disasters while you’re “p r o t e c t i n g   the   s h e e p”.

Tornadoes, Electrical Storms, Floods and Earthquakes can take place any time and even in South Carolina.

A Natural Disaster is defined by Wikipedia as “a major adverse event resulting from natural processes of the Earth.” But what if a tornado came through the area during YOUR Church service? Does your congregation know where all the exits are in your Church or where to go if it was a tornado situation?

Take the time right now to review YOUR Church’s safety plans for Emergency situations in regards to Natural Disasters.   By having a plan in place or by NOT having a plan---it will mean the difference between chaos or organization.

A Mother is frantic.....she can't find her child anywhere.  No one wants to hear those words "I can't find my child" but it can happen even at a Church and unfortunately it has happen.  Churches need to be proactive in their Nursery and Children's programs.  Churches need to have a Check-in and Check-out system but that is only the beginning.  Is there a background done on your volunteer workers, are all the workers required to have special training before working with children?  These are just a few questions your Church's Written Plan should cover regarding the nursery and children's area.

Medical emergencies can happen at any given moment!  A slip or fall, wounds or a broken bone----your Church wants to be prepared to assist any of your members or visitors and make them comfortable until EMS arrives.  BUT do you have anyone trained or certified to assist anyone at your Church who needs your care before EMS arrives.....and who calls....and who directs the ambulance to the proper entrance.....?  Great questions to answer and prepare for BEFORE a medical emergency arises.  AND one more thought....what about when your teens, men's/women's group or your seniors who are on an activity away from the Church or a retreat, do you have a plan for Medical Emergencies in place?

Devastating….Catastrophe…..Mourning……Chaos……

“I never thought it would happen here.”

A Church Shooting situation is a lost of words……there is not a worst case scenario for any Church!

Unfortunately, Church Shootings are on the rise in United States.  Any site on the internet on Church Shooting stats reflects an increase….an increase none of us want!

But as a Church…..we need to prepare for such an emergency situation!  Churches today need to realize it could happen in their town and in their church.   God forbid that it ever again does happen… but we need to prepare for the unthinkable!  We need to plan, prepare and train!

Take the time right now to review YOUR Church’s safety plans for an Emergency Church Shooting or violent situation.  It can mean the difference in the lives of your congregational members!
