With a diverse background that includes:  32 years in Crime Prevention and 12 years as an International Crime Prevention Specialist and Instructor, 25 years as Instructor for the American Red Cross and 7 years as an EMT Instructor for the state of SC, Christine brings a practical and experienced skill set to the Church Safety Ministry.  Her vision for the NCSN is to serve the Lord by continuing this ministry in serving the Church and utilizing her skills for God’s glory.   Christine carries on the Mission that she and her husband, Sgt. Brian Donnelly, began with the National Church Safety Network----“Its all about  protecting  the  sheep.”

 

Capt. John Gardner
Captain Travelers Rest Police Department

Captain John Gardner began his career in 1991 as a patrol deputy with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.  He spent several years with narcotic investigations before moving to K9 as a handler and later a K9 team trainer.  Currently he is a Captain at the Travelers Rest Police Department in northern Greenville county and oversees operations.    His background includes:  Firearms Instructor, Basic Instructor Development, ALLERT Instructor, PACOP Instructor and LASER Instructor—all of which relate to Active Shooter Response.

 

Mr. Dan Kobler

Daniel Kobler is the owner of Dynamic Defense and Gear in Travelers Rest, SC.  Dan is a NRA and South Carolina Law Enforcement Certified Instructor.  Dan trains weekly with and for both current and prior law enforcement and military personnel.  Dan is also an avid competitor in IDPA and IPSC style events.  Dan is a regular speaker at several firearms and personal preparedness meetings and conferences.

Dr. Mike Wilkie

Dr. Mike Wilkie joined the Criminal Justice faculty at Bob Jones University, his alma mater, in the fall of 2012.  He retired in the summer of 2012 as the Chief of Police for the City of Acworth, GA near Atlanta.  He was appointed Chief in December, 2002.  He began his career in 1988.  A graduate of Bob Jones University, he holds a Master of Criminal Justice from the University of SC and a Master of Public Administration degree from Columbus State University Columbus, GA.  In December, 2011 he received the Doctor of Public Administration degree from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA.  Chief Wilkie has trained with the Israel State Police as a delegate of the 17th Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange.  He is an advocate of he Community Policing philosophy.  Also Chief Mike Wilkie has served in the United States Army Reserve and in the Georgia State Defense Force.  He is a Certified Police Instructor and a Certified Firearms Instructor.     

 

Dr. Heather Williams

Presenter:  Roundtable Discussion on Nursery and Children’s Program Safety Planning

Dr. Heather Williams, Associate Professor of Education, earned her Doctor of Education from Bob Jones University.  She holds a teaching license in the state of South Carolina, and previously taught elementary school with a special interest in serving exceptional students in the general education classroom.  In addition, she has received extensive training in identification and prevention of child sexual abuse.  She is a frequent speaker at Christian Education Conventions around the country.  Current areas of professional interest include child development, autism, and child advocacy.
